Call for Sessions

Event Date: 14 October 2026

Location: London UK

Are you working at the forefront of virtual production? Do you have a project, workflow, or insight that pushes boundaries in real-time filmmaking, in-camera VFX, AI or the broader VP pipeline?

We're inviting creators, technologists, and innovators to share their work at Starting Pixel Live 26 - a dedicated global event for the virtual production community.

Whether you're integrating Unreal Engine, LED volumes, camera tracking, volumetric capture, AI tools, or bespoke virtual pipelines, this is your platform to connect with peers, share practical knowledge, and shape the future of production.

What we're looking for:

We’re seeking proposals that reflect the real challenges, innovations, and breakthroughs happening in virtual production today. Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Clear case studies with practical takeaways and real-world results

  • This year we're introducing a heavier aspect of the use of AI, LLM, MCP Servers and tools (bespoke or general) to support all aspects of virtual production.

  • This doesn't exclude projects using real-time engines (e.g. Unreal Engine, Nuke Stage, Chaos Arena) for film, TV, advertising, corporate or social content

  • Integration of emerging technologies: performance tracking, location capture, XR, AI, etc.

  • Original workflows or toolchains for in-camera VFX, previs, environment builds, or post-integration Multi-disciplinary or cross-industry applications of VP technology

What we’re not looking for:

  • Product sales pitches

  • AI for imagine generation or general use outside of virtual production

  • Panels or informal discussions

  • Vendor-only sessions without applied context

  • Sponsored ‘Demo Jam’ slots will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis

Session Formats:

  • Track Sessions – 30-minute sessions focused on R&D, pipeline innovation, or production case studies

  • Student Showcases – 10-minute fast pitches from emerging creators or recent graduates

  • Demo Jams – 8-minute rapid-fire product or tool demos (sponsor-only)

  • Masterclasses – Paid, deep-dive workshops held adjacent to the main event (TBC)

Speaker Requirements:

  • There is no speaker travel, accommodation or expenses available.

  • One speaker per session - additional speakers on application

  • All accepted speakers must sign the SPL26 speaker agreement

  • Attendance at a virtual speaker briefing is required

  • Technical checks may be conducted prior to the event

  • Presentations will be via the speaker’s laptops using standard wired HDMI connectors
