Code of Conduct
Purpose:
Starting Pixel (SP) is dedicated to fostering a respectful, dignified, and inclusive atmosphere. This Code of Conduct embodies SP's values, principles, and expectations for both personal and professional behavior of its members. Maintaining active membership in SP necessitates compliance with this Code.
Commitment: All SP members are expected to actively support and promote the contributions of their peers within the SP community and the broader Virtual Production (VP) field, without discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, childbirth, marital status, race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, medical condition, culture, age, religion, military service, veteran status, or any other characteristic.
Code of Conduct Guidelines: Members are required to:

Conduct themselves with utmost integrity, avoiding any actions that could diminish their own or SP's reputation, or adversely affect the standing, reputation, welfare, and interests of SP and its affiliates.

SP unequivocally opposes discrimination, harassment, or retaliation of any kind within its operations or engagements.
Definitions:
Discrimination involves unequal treatment or the denial/granting of benefits based on an individual's characteristic, affecting opportunities like promotions and equal pay.
Harassment includes any unwanted behavior creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment, manifesting through verbal, physical, or digital means, including bullying, derogatory comments, offensive materials, and endangering others' safety.
Workplace Harassment pertains to unwelcome conduct in a professional setting, including solicitations or advances by those in positions of power.
Sexual Harassment encompasses unwelcome sexual advances, conditional employment offers based on sexual favours, derogatory comments, unwelcome physical contact, and other sexually offensive behaviours.
Retaliation refers to adverse actions taken against individuals reporting or perceived as reporting policy violations related to discrimination or harassment.
SP recognises the unique creative nature of its members' work environments but asserts that creativity does not justify compromising individuals' safety or well-being.
SP is committed to ensuring a positive and respectful environment, holding its members to the highest standards. Any violation of this code not only diminishes the community and profession but may also result in loss of membership.
We urge all SP members to commit to this Code of Conduct, maintaining the honor and integrity of our community.
Community Guidelines
It's key we are inclusive to all members whatever there level, role, organisation, technology choices, workflow or personal diversity.
To foster this, it must be a safe place to share, discuss and debate for everyone to succeed.

Language considerations – Not everyone has English as their first language – in fact, the majority won't. Please appreciate this and avoid jargon, together with exercising patience.

Quality over quantity – Rather than having members unsubscribe due to chat noise, aim for meaningful contributions.

Non-commercial environment – This group shouldn't be viewed as a commercial opportunity to sell products or services. Contravening this, may result in permanent removal from the group of the individual and members of their organisation.

Commercial competitors welcome – Members of the group may very likely be commercial competitors, but this is a learning and sharing environment. Everyone is welcome.

Constructive conversations – Avoid criticism of tech and suppliers. They too are trying to learn what 'we' need to be successful.

Focused discussion – This group is not for Facebook-style chit-chat or debates. If you'd like to discuss something in more detail, we recommend using direct messages, or we can set up a sub-group if needed.

Inappropriate content – Posts that contravene these guidelines may be deleted at the admin's discretion. -
Content use and attribution – By sharing content in Starting Pixel (chats, media, links), you agree it may be referenced or repurposed. We aim to credit contributors, but if something is missed, let us know and we’ll fix it tot he best of our abilities. Please ensure you have the authority to share what you post.
In summary, please respect our members' chat-feed, we prefer quality over quantity and aim to retain our members, rather than have them unsubscribe due to chat noise. We hope you will appreciate this mutual respect too.
